Never thought I would say it but yes I have been seduced by Facebooooook!

I do miss blogging so I am back and will try hard to continue.
I have finished the  CQJP2015 challenge and now have to put it together in a quilt/wall hanging

The background is the same fabric that I used on my Couture Circle quilt.  I love this fabric but need to make the background different somehow!
Center piece

The second I try laying out the pieces on the floor for a better view Opie needs to wonder across the middle!

Without the cat!

Keeping with the "button theme I embroidered my initials with the beads around them on tulle and gathered it over a 2" mother of pearl button.

I mounted the black taffeta fabric (about 38" by 50")  on a frame with a layer of black tulle over it and started the border .
I auditioned several options for the border with some stitching buddies and this was the winning selection.

This vintage metal lace layered over silk velvet (I must be crazy) really makes the metal lace pop.
Sorry the pictures are not the best.

  1. WOW! You do such beautiful work. I've got to check out that needle you are using for embroidery too, that you mention in your header. I've never heard of it.

  3. Wow. That is just gorgeous. Love the dramatic black background. It sets off the bright jewels of your circles and the metal lace so perfectly. Such talent...
